... a splendid four seasons place to visit.
Bright and welcoming, our Bed & Breakfast in Ventnor City, downbeach from Atlantic City, makes you not only feel welcome, but makes you not want to leave! We believe our Come Wright Inn is a delightful escape. In addition to the architectural accents of the original hardwood floors, high ceilings, thick woodwork, vintage light fixtures and sturdy, warm radiators, we have added our family heirlooms and antiques.
We are sure you will agree that we have created a cozy, quaint, peaceful atmosphere that will take you back to the genteel time of lace, light and that made-to-last quality. It is a splendid four seasons place to visit.
The Jitney bus to Atlantic City's main attractions runs 24 hours a day and can be picked up just three blocks from our Inn. Also, NJ Transit bus runs along Ventnor Avenue just outside our front door. Taxis are available upon request. Within walking distance, you will find unique and interesting shops and restaurants- Italian, Japanese, American, Kosher.
Tennis courts are open to the public and, of course, the beautiful Atlantic Ocean for swimming. The excitement of the Atlantic City Boardwalk is just minutes away as Ventnor's Boardwalk and the Atlantic City Boardwalk are one continuous promenade. It is a wonderful place for you to take a bike ride or a stroll.
Our Come Wright Inn offers a variety of accommodations. Up the staircase, the third floor Rosings Suite boasts our best view of Atlantic City and the Atlantic Ocean. When you stay overnight in the suite comprised of two cheery rooms, hallway area and a private bath with a claw foot tub/shower, you will be in a world of your own because you have the whole floor to yourselves!
The Inn also has the Netherfield Suite with a queen size bed and private bath/ sitting room overlooking the garden and fountain. This sitting room was once the "talk of the town" as only the wealthy Victorians would build this "room on stilts" just off their bedroom and would use it as a bathing room.
A very popular suite is the Pemberley that has its own private deck which comprises the whole front of the Inn allowing you to view the passerbys from the second story. You can also see a portion of the ocean. This suite has a gas heater fireplace for winter evenings which makes it a romantic suite to book.
If you are a single traveler, or a couple who just wants to snuggle in a queen size bed surrounded by butterflies and flowers, we have the Longbourn Room with its large private bath.
You are welcome to sit and relax by the fire on chilly days in the main parlor where the sun glistens through the stained glass window. Enjoy the warmth of the sunshine and the cool ocean breezes as you sit on antique bamboo furniture in our glass enclosed sunroom abounding with plants and flowers. You may want to sit in the shade on a bench in the flower garden to quietly reflect as you watch the birds and butterflies flit and flutter; or, you may want to sit under the hanging fan on the back porch overlooking the fountain where neighborhood birds take their baths. Whichever you choose, you will soon discover that each sitting area throughout the Inn is reminiscent of a slower paced lifestyle.
Coffee or tea will be available for those early risers who want to jog or stroll along the ocean's edge and take in the fresh air. With each reservation, a four course gourmet breakfast is included which is served at 9:00 AM based on a menu you will preview the night before. Perhaps you would like to indulge in a Napa Valley Garden Medley Frittata or you may be enticed to try Croissants a la Orange with fresh orange sauce. Because Steve is a vegetarian, we are sensitive to special dietary needs. A continental breakfast basket will be brought to your room should you prefer that instead of the formal breakfast.
The Four Course Gourmet breakfast is served on fine china and silver on delicate linens in our elegant dining room. During the appropriate months, however, we offer the sunroom or the outside deck as alternative dining areas for a more private eating experience.
